Epifany

Mamaku selalu marah kalau orang salah menuliskan namaku.
Entah kenapa. Padahal kayaknya namaku biasa-biasa saja. Untuk urusan ini, emang mamaku concern sekali. Sebab dialah yang memberiku nama ini.
When I was still in my mom’s womb, my mom already knew that I’ll be a girl. So she insisted only to prepare names for a girl. My mom wants the name to be beautiful, short but in the same time, meaningful. What a hard work! There were some options made, and then she had 3 finalists. The first name was Debora, a judge in the Bible story. She wanted to call me Debbie, but I already had a cousin named Debbie. The second is Anastasia, a name of a Tsar’s daughter. But back then my mom didn’t know the meaning. The last is Epifany, originally from epiphanies. My mom found it in my dad’s book. In the book, the meaning is written in Karonese. It says, “tangkas teridah kemuliaan Dibata”, which mean we can see the God’s glory clearly. My mom and dad liked the name so much, and they decided to take it as my name. What a beautiful name isn’t it? Tapi aku berusaha…that’s the importat part!
